Tatsuko, the Luck Dragon Puppet that started it all

Tatsuko was conjured up and built into existence over approximately 7 months of work. I was working full time during their creation so could only give my evenings and weekends to the build. Originally created for a Live Action Role Play event, Tatusko has been incredibly well received by children, adults, the internet and just about anyone who lays eyes on them! They feature a blink mechanism and opening jaw, along with EL wire under the scales to add a mysterious glow in the evening, and a small speaker so they can purr, growl and roar!

The youtube video above is one I made detailing the creation of the puppet. I wanted to give back to the online crafting community who had inspired me and helped me with similar videos! At present it has over a million views, and has lead to many creators getting in contact with me to show me their awesome puppet builds inspired by this video. I’m so proud of you all!
